1:30 am – You know what I’m up for. At least I know I’m hydrated.
6:30 am –Lidocaine patches come off.
7:00 am – Happy Halloween everyone! Time for toast and meds.
8:00 am – My visiting nurse, Laura, calls to see if she can stop by around 10 am. This is my motivation to get up, get ready, and clear the excess stuff off the kitchen table.
9:45 am – Jasper and I lure Sunny into my bedroom so she doesn’t spazz all over Laura. She should be happy I didn’t buy her a Halloween costume (Sunny, not Laura)..
10:00 am –Laura arrives. We chat about my last doctor appointment and she adjusts my record to add prednisone. She also suggests some things to eat that might pick up my appetite. Last time she suggested Carnation Instant Breakfast Drink, which I actually liked when I was a kid (although you had to mix it up then). It now comes in little plastic bottles and tastes as bad as those other nutrient drinks like Ensure. Veto!
11:30 am – NBC breaks in with a special news report on the Trump impeachment process. I may complete my bucket list yet.
12:00 pm – Must sleep more. It’s a wet, rainy day here so I don’t know if we’ll see many trick-or-treaters tonight. I haven’t even picked up a pumpkin for the porch. I think we are going gourdless this year, for the first time ever.
3:00 pm – Wake up and visit the basement for some laundry (whoop di doo).
4:00 pm – Jasper takes on candy hand-out duty. The wind has picked up substantially and there’s a light mist in the air, but there’s still a few munchkins knocking on doors out there.
6:00 pm –Lidocaine pain patch time.
7:10 pm – Pill time again.
7:30 pm – Sleep. Super tired today.
Look for the last installment in this diary series tomorrow.
